A look back into our past

1975

Mike Fitzpatrick’s interest in wine begin’s on the quaintly named Squitchey Lane in Oxford, England, where he lived while studying at Oxford University

1982

Vines are planted on the site that is to become Squitchy Lane Vineyards.

1996

Mike and Helen purchase the future home of Squitchy Lane

2004

Mike engages a winemaking team to begin producing wines under the Squitchy Lane label. In previous years the harvest had been sold off to other wineries in the area including amongst others Coldstream Hills.

2013

The old tractor shed that had served as a makeshift cellar door gets a facelift which is what you see today.

2016

2015 Cabernet Sauvignon wins the Best Cabernet Sauvignon trophy at the Victorian Wine Show.

2019

2018 Cabernet Sauvignon steals the show at the Yarra Valley Wine Show, winning 4 trophies including;

  • Best Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Best Red Wine
  • Best Single Estate Wine
  • Champion Wine of Show
