We managed to squeeze in a tasting in mid May with Simon at Medhurst of the 2022’s in barrel. We’re pretty happy with the way they are looking and can’t wait to revisit them in a few months. We’ve included some brief tasting notes below.
Fumé Blanc: Bright with green tinges, aromas of green apples and minerals. Good palate weight and mouth feel with lime and lemon acidity.
Chardonnay: Clear and bright with aromas of nougat and nectarine. A long fine palate with lovely structure and finesse.
Pinot Noir 114: Lovely colour with outstanding brightness. Well structured tannins and palate weight.
Pinot Noir MV6: Great colour – nice meaty perfume. Lovely rich palate with juicy flavour and long natural tannins.
Cabernet Sauvignon: Extraordinary colour and brightness. Perfumed dark berries and green olive. Lovely natural balance and structure.
Merlot: Deep and dense colour. Lovely perfume of rose petals and blueberry.
Cabernet Franc: Lifted notes of strawberry and spice. Good weight with nice length.
